Day 6....

So today I'm feeling a little bit bored
and amused at the smallest things. Like
putting "lalalaaaaa" in the caption of
this post...I thought was hilarious.
Ask me why...I have no idea.

Here it is. My photo for day 6!

6/360

Who can guess what this is?? The first one
with the correct answer gets to spend a day with me!
haha that'd be pretty cool, eh? Lucky duck :)

I got this picture while playing around some more
with long-exposure type photography.
Have you tried long-exposure before?
How'd it work out? Feel free to send me a picture,
I'd love to see your work!

I hope you're all doing well!
Happy Snapping,
Emily :)

Day 5 :)

5/361

My picture for day number 5 is very different from
my usual work. Today as I was on my way to church,
I got to witness this little act of kindness
in my small town of Belmont.
As the van was backing out of its driveway,
it stalled right in the middle of the street.
This car ahead stopped and the man jumped out to help.
Not a minute later a few more bystanders came running
out of their homes to help push the car safely to the
side of the road.
It's the small things like this, that truly show us that
there is still a lot of good left on this earth.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends and is ready to
start another great week!
Happy Snapping,
Emily :)

Day 4; Learning to see through new eyes...

As I sat here tonight cuddling with my puppy after a
long day, I began thinking about this project and how
I'm learning to look at things from a different
perspective. Not a minute later
I just happened to glace
down at my coffee table and this idea
popped into my mind. :) Enjoy!

Next time you're "bored", try looking at the
things you're used to in
a new way. You'd be surprised all the beautiful
sitting around
that you miss on a daily basis.

Hope you're all enjoying the snow!
Happy Snapping!

Here's my chilly work from day 3!

Today can only truly be described by
one word; FREEZING.
I took this photo in the late afternoon
when the temperature out was
a frigid 3 degrees.

   3/363

Absolutely the coldest day in a very long time.
This picture is a perfect testament of
today in the sense that it
shows of Jack Frosts handy work.
Nice job today, Jack. Well played.

The only thing I have left to say for now
is that I hope you and yours managed to
stay warm and toasty today,
and will remain that way throughtout
this cold, (too cold) winter.

Wishing you all the best.
Happy Snapping!
Emily :)

Day 2 of 365 :)

Today was crazy in the sense that unlike
most times I do a shoot,
when the subject is usually either
someone who can sit still, or a mountain
which is already pretty good and steady....
I should have known as I was bribing my
2 year-old puppy with his favorite treat, it was
going to get interesting.

Meet my favorite four-legged little pup, Charlie!

2/364

After an hour of chasing him around the house and feeding him about 10 peppermint candies...he finally
laid down and was beginning to cooperate.
Although he isn't looking, I adore how this
picture looks. For me, there are
two reasons in particular I love this.
One, it portrays the Charlie I know and love. He's such
hyper little guy, always looking
around for the next bit of trouble to get
 into or someone to play with;
never sitting in one spot for long, (unless he's sleeping).
:) And two, it brings me right back to the
reason I started this project
and why I love photography so much.
I love to capture those moments that we miss much too
often due to our busy lives. The moments
that make us stop and realize what
a truly beautiful world we live in. All those
beautiful awe inspiring moments that too often
pass us by, none of which should
go unnoticed a second longer.

I truly hope you enjoy reading this blog, as I am very
much enjoying
creating it to share with you all.

Day one of my 365 Project complete!

1/365
January 1st, 2014

This photo was taking at sunrise on Lake Winnisquam

in New Hampshire.
For my first day on this year-long journey, I
really threw myself into it.
I woke up bright and early, went trucking through
the snow then sat and waited
for my perfect moment.
Even though it was a chilly 5 degrees out there,
it was really beautiful watching
the sun peak up over the trees and onto the lake.
What a perfect way to start my Project.

What does this picture look like to YOU at first glance?

Thinking about starting your own Project and need some help?
Feel free to comment.

Happy Snapping!

Happy New Year's Eve!

I'm going to start by saying that I can't BELIEVE
2014 is here! When did that happen?? What are
your plans tonight and how are YOU ringing in
the New Year? Any new or exciting endeavors
you're looking forward to?
For me, 2013 was filled with so many new
adventures that as sad as I am to see it come to
a close, I know that 2014 will be even better!

Now that Christmas is over and the snows really
starting to pile up I have one thing on
my mind: Spring begins in 3 months! YAY!

I have some pretty big things planned for 2014.
The biggest one, and the one I'm most excited
about, is the start to my first Protect 365!
For those of you who don't know, "Project 365" is
a great way to add creativity as well as
gets you looking more at the things round you differently,
as well as gets your mind going with new
ideas that keep your photography new and exciting.
So for the next 365 days, I
will be documenting 1 picture a day and posting it to
this blog, for you all to see!
So feel free to comment with ideas, questions,
or with help starting your own Project!

In this next year, make every *snap* of your camera count.
Every day that goes by, do something worthwhile.
Stop and take in the beauty around you, hug
the ones you love, and truly live the life
you desire most. It's out there waiting, you just
have to make the first step. In this New Year,
do what you love most. Take that step.

From my little family to yours,
Have a Happy and Blessed New Year.
Let's make it count.
