Lake Winnipesaukee - Day 19

A view of Lake Winnipesaukee is always bound to take your breath away, and even more so when covered with ice on a chilly evening in January.

It was freezing out as I walked the beach looking for a good spot from which I could capture my photo, and although my hands were shaking a bit from the cold, I still managed to grab this one.

Enjoy,
Happy Snapping,
Emily :)

Day 18: Winter Wonder Land

Living in New England any season of the year will
have it's perks, one of my favorites from the
winter season would be all the snow-covered
trees and winding roads. This one
caught my eye as I was driving through
afternoon and I just had to stop and take a picture.

Enjoy and Happy Snapping!

One of my favorites...

One of my favorite places in the world; Starbucks <3
I got this picture tonight on my way home,
sadly I was late and they had just closed,
but there's always tomorrow! :)

I bet most of you are gearing up for Sunday
nights football game, Go Patriots! :)
Happy Snapping,
Emily :)

January 16th, 2014...

Yesterday's picture is now up!
While drinking the
last drops from New Years Eve's Apple Cider,
I was looking into the bottom of the bottle and saw
this. I thought it was kinda cool. :)

Hope everyone's gearing up for a great weekend,
Happy Snapping,
Emily :)

January 15th, 2014

Well this is 2 days late, but who cares. :-D
These are the paint colors I'm considering for my room; still deciding, but can't wait until I can paint my new space!

Happy Snapping!

Day 14 with my little sister...

This is my sister, Celia. I kidnapped her for the
day to be my little model, and as she's used
to my crazy shoots, I thought it'd be nice to add
her to this project.
Day 14 is complete and now I have more wonderful
photos of my buddy :)

It's rainy in my part of the world, but where ever
you are I hope you're having a great day!
Happy Snapping,
Emily :)

Day 13...

Day 13 was a long one since I'm sick with the flu and wasn't really able to go too far. That meant I'd have
to get creative around my apartment. It was a
nice little challenge and a change of pace.

Enjoy and Happy Snapping :)

Sunrise from day 12 :)

As you can see, the sunrise from this morning was
absolutely amazing. Really though, talk
about being in the right place at the right time.
I took this on my way
home from a friends house. This view
from the bridge leaving Governors Island is always
magnificent and today was no exception.

Sorry for the delay in posting yesterdays picture,
I seem to have caught the flu and was
unable to get on the computer last night.

Hope you all had a wonderful day,
Happy Snapping!
Emily :)

Muggy day 11...

Day 11 has been cold and wet, but here it is.
This picture was taken at the dock next to my house and let me say it was a slippery walk from my back porch to this spot, but I'm glad I went out and got this shot despite the rain :)

Someone send the sun my way :)
Happy Snapping!

Day 10...and so yummy :)

Day 10 and so very tasty! Let me just
start by saying that tiramisu is my absolute
favorite desert, so when I came home to find some
in my fridge this afternoon...well let's
just say I may have cheated on my diet a bit :)))

I was about to take a bite when I realized that
this would be a perfect picture for day 10!
So here it is...enjoy ;)

Happy Snappppping :)
Emily

Day 9....A day late :)

Day 9 complete! Okay, it's a day late, but
nevertheless; here it is!
As I sat in my living room yesterday, I realized
that I hadn't put even one portrait in my project yet!
(And considering that portrait photography is my
favorite, I decided it was time
to change that).

This kid cooperates so nicely and I
always enjoy dragging him into my shoots.
Thanks, Mike!

Happy Snapping, everyone!

Chilly Day 8!

Sorry this photo is a day late, as soon as I got
home from work last night I crashed. Thus failing
to post my picture for the day!
Without another minutes wait, here it is! My chilly,
oh so chilly, 5 degrees chilly, photo for day 8!

I sat the camera on the ground, (well actually on a
store sales flyer so my camera wouldn't get ruined
from the cold), set it for a longer exposure, and
this is what I got. You can see a sight streak of
light running through the middle left from the
cars moving past.
It was so cold I wasn't able to stay and play
with my settings longer; (mostly for fear that
my fingers would fall off). I do look forward to
trying this again though, hopefully when
it's a bit warmer. :)

Stay warm, everyone!
Happy Snapping!
Emily :)

Day 7...Food for thought.

What a beautiful thing; this world we
live in. It's sad to think that we're usually
too busy to stop and really take it all in.
As you move through your day tomorrow, remember
to take a good look around and enjoy every minute.
Really take some time to appreciate that they've
all been given another day on this magnificent earth.
Life is a wonderful thing and we only
get one. Make it count.

How did YOU take some time today? Did you see something
that you would normally miss?
Comment and tell me about it :)

Happy Snapping,

Emily :)

Day 6....

So today I'm feeling a little bit bored
and amused at the smallest things. Like
putting "lalalaaaaa" in the caption of
this post...I thought was hilarious.
Ask me why...I have no idea.

Here it is. My photo for day 6!

6/360

Who can guess what this is?? The first one
with the correct answer gets to spend a day with me!
haha that'd be pretty cool, eh? Lucky duck :)

I got this picture while playing around some more
with long-exposure type photography.
Have you tried long-exposure before?
How'd it work out? Feel free to send me a picture,
I'd love to see your work!

I hope you're all doing well!
Happy Snapping,
Emily :)

Day 5 :)

5/361

My picture for day number 5 is very different from
my usual work. Today as I was on my way to church,
I got to witness this little act of kindness
in my small town of Belmont.
As the van was backing out of its driveway,
it stalled right in the middle of the street.
This car ahead stopped and the man jumped out to help.
Not a minute later a few more bystanders came running
out of their homes to help push the car safely to the
side of the road.
It's the small things like this, that truly show us that
there is still a lot of good left on this earth.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends and is ready to
start another great week!
Happy Snapping,
Emily :)

Day 4; Learning to see through new eyes...

As I sat here tonight cuddling with my puppy after a
long day, I began thinking about this project and how
I'm learning to look at things from a different
perspective. Not a minute later
I just happened to glace
down at my coffee table and this idea
popped into my mind. :) Enjoy!

4/362

Next time you're "bored", try looking at the
things you're used to in
a new way. You'd be surprised all the beautiful
sitting around
that you miss on a daily basis.

Hope you're all enjoying the snow!
Happy Snapping!
Emily :)

Here's my chilly work from day 3!

Today can only truly be described by
one word; FREEZING.
I took this photo in the late afternoon
when the temperature out was
a frigid 3 degrees.

   3/363

Absolutely the coldest day in a very long time.
This picture is a perfect testament of
today in the sense that it
shows of Jack Frosts handy work.
Nice job today, Jack. Well played.

The only thing I have left to say for now
is that I hope you and yours managed to
stay warm and toasty today,
and will remain that way throughtout
this cold, (too cold) winter.

Wishing you all the best.
Happy Snapping!
Emily :)

Day 2 of 365 :)

Today was crazy in the sense that unlike
most times I do a shoot,
when the subject is usually either
someone who can sit still, or a mountain
which is already pretty good and steady....
I should have known as I was bribing my
2 year-old puppy with his favorite treat, it was
going to get interesting.

Meet my favorite four-legged little pup, Charlie!

2/364

After an hour of chasing him around the house and feeding him about 10 peppermint candies...he finally
laid down and was beginning to cooperate.
Although he isn't looking, I adore how this
picture looks. For me, there are
two reasons in particular I love this.
One, it portrays the Charlie I know and love. He's such
hyper little guy, always looking
around for the next bit of trouble to get
 into or someone to play with;
never sitting in one spot for long, (unless he's sleeping).
:) And two, it brings me right back to the
reason I started this project
and why I love photography so much.
I love to capture those moments that we miss much too
often due to our busy lives. The moments
that make us stop and realize what
a truly beautiful world we live in. All those
beautiful awe inspiring moments that too often
pass us by, none of which should
go unnoticed a second longer.

I truly hope you enjoy reading this blog, as I am very
much enjoying
creating it to share with you all.

Happy Snapping!

Here's a peak of another project I was working on today:

Just a bit of fun with long-exposure and my iPhone flashlight :)

Day one of my 365 Project complete!

1/365
January 1st, 2014

This photo was taking at sunrise on Lake Winnisquam

in New Hampshire.
For my first day on this year-long journey, I
really threw myself into it.
I woke up bright and early, went trucking through
the snow then sat and waited
for my perfect moment.
Even though it was a chilly 5 degrees out there,
it was really beautiful watching
the sun peak up over the trees and onto the lake.
What a perfect way to start my Project.

What does this picture look like to YOU at first glance?

Thinking about starting your own Project and need some help?
Feel free to comment.

Happy Snapping!
